On the market, there are three types starter batteries for starting your vehicle’s engine: SLI, AGM and EFB batteries.
SLI(Starting Lighting Ignition)is the most popular batteries now and they are mostly sealed maintenance free and their life span is 2-3 years.
AGM (Absorbent Glass Matt) & EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery) are both start-stop battery used in vehicles with start-stop system. Generally speaking, AGM battery is normally used in European & American cars, and EFB battery is commonly seen on Japanese & Korean cars.
With the intensification of global climate change and the increasing challenges of energy consumption, the world automotive market has put forward higher standards for carbon emission standards and fuel economy. The start-stop system is an energy-saving and emission-reduction technology that has developed rapidly in recent years. The AGM & EFB batteries are invented and developed under such situation to meet the CO2 emission standards.
Below table can show you the main differences between three types starter batteries.

The AGM & EFB battery can put in the vehicles without start-stop system, but the SLI battery can not put in the vehicles with start-stop system, as it will die quickly.
